L'oreal Skin Perfection BB VS. CC - The Winner

and the winner is... THE BB!

about a week ago I mentioned in this post that I've got the new BB and CC cream from L'oreal and shared my first impressions from each product.
After a full week of using both I think that the BB is better for my skin and needs.

I absolutely love the dewy look it leaves on my skin, It's so lightweight which makes it perfect for summer time.
It covers imperfections well enough for a BB and gives me an even skin tone.

It doesn't clog pores and gives a very natural look to the face, it blends into the skin evenly and effortlessly.

The scent is very subtle and doesn't irritate and it has SPF 25 which is a must for the summer time.
It's very hydrating and you can skip using an additional moisturizer.

The only downside is that it's available only in 2 shades: Fair & Medium. So not everyone can find their right shade.

L'oreal Skin Perfection - BB VS. CC - First Impressions

In our 20's and 30's the skin is still young but not always perfect. Stress, fatigue and an unbalanced lifestyle can affect our skin's quality causing irregularities to appear like imperfections, enlarged pores and an uneven skin texture.

The skin perfection line has the correction skin effect that helps achieve an even skin tone and glow, and help to combat those imperfections. It's targeted for women between ages 25-35.

I've got two of their new products that finally arrived to Israel:  the BB Cream & the Perk-Up Cream (CC).

as with my previous post about the skin perfection moisturizer (Read Here) I'm going to split this post into two parts as well.
In this post I'll give you my first impressions from my first use of both products.
On the second post, within a week of regular use, I'm going to pick up my winner.

THE SKIN PERFECTION BB CREAM

what the product promises:
New Skin Perfection BB Cream, with SPF 25. The 5 in 1 Blemish Balm, helps protect the skin from premature skin ageing caused by UV rays.
The tinted lightweight formula perfects complexion for a healthy-looking glow.

The BB is very lightweight indeed it smooths onto the skin quite lovely.
The texture is perfect, not too thick and not too light. I tried using a brush with it but I've noticed my fingers did a better job in blending the BB into the skin.

I used it on it's own without applying an extra moisturizer. It's moisturizing and contains SPF so double points for that alone.

The scent is very subtle like the other creams in the line, it's not overwhelming or irritating.

The coverage is light as well, it does give you an even skin tone and very dewy look, which I love.
But if you have breakouts, spots or other impurities you'll need to use a concealer as well.

SKIN PERFECTION PERK-UP CREAM
what the product promises:
New Skin Perfection Anti-Fatigue Perk Up Cream instantly reduces the appearance of signs of fatigue, dark circles are concealed and complexion looks fresh and glowing.
Daily 24hr moisture kick, skin looks fuller, plumper. SPF 20 helps protect skin from damaging UV rays.

L'oreal is marketing the perk up cream as a CC cream in Israel. It reminds me of Nude Magique CC cream also by L'oreal. It also contains micro beads that when blended react to your skin tone and give a tint.

The CC is very moisturizing, it's also lightweight skin looks dewy and the scent is subtle.

Coverage is too light for my taste, I didn't feel like it gives me any coverage. So I think marketing this cream as a CC is incorrect. It doesn't have a Color Correcting affect like other CC creams have. I would recommend this indeed as a daily moisturizer it contains SPF and gives the skin a nice glow and fresh look. Perfect for fighting dull complexion, and the appearance of tiredness.

Side by Side
I liked them both I will continue using them for the next week to decide which one I like more.

Lancome - Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector serum - Close Up Results - Review

I'm posting this update a month later than it should have been up.
The reason is that I really really wanted to see even better results (the package did state visible results between 4-6 weeks of use ).

As I mentioned in my previous update my skin has been loving this product.
I've noticed that in the past 2 months of use the skin has regained more vitality and definitely improved its texture.

I can't comment on lines\wrinkles appearance but I will state that the product has a bit of tightening effect sort of like a primer does after applying it.  But, the appearance of pores remained the same I didn't see any noticeable change in that department.

Close Up

I do like how my skin appears more even toned and I use less coverage than before.

On a side note it is on the pricey side ($115.00 for 1.7oz) and the results on my skin doesn't justify the splurge.

Lancome - Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector serum - Review - 3 Days Update

My skin has been loving this product!
I've been using the Lancome Visionnaire for more than 3 days now and I wanted to share with you my skin updates :)

The skin looks softer than it used to and feel smoother every day. The skin's texture has approved significantly only after 3 days of use!
usually I put my BB cream with medium coverage to conceal redness and to overall even out my skin tone and complexion.

Today for the first time I didn't use any foundation or additional moisturizer. I only used my concealer on a few blemishes and  a transparent pressed powder on my T-zone for a matt look (see photo below).

you can see that my skin tone looks even, no redness, pores are slightly smaller and less noticeable and the skin is well moisturized and doesn't look dull.

Crossing my fingers to see even more improvement in minimizing those pores in a few weeks time.

Lancome - Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector serum - Review - First Impressions

Hi All,

I wanted to quickly share with you my first impressions about a new product by Lancome:

the Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector.

I have received this product for a self-assessment test from Lancome and this review will be split to 3 posts series on this blog:
  • The first, which is the current post you're reading, will be first impressions after the first use.
  • The Second, after 3 days of use - updates about my skin condition.
  • The Third, The "Close-Up" after 4 weeks of use + before and after results.

a little bit about the product:
Visionnaire [LR 2412 4% - Cx] is a second generation serum with the Double Jasmonate Complex and new smoothing ingredients that correct wrinkles, pores and skin texture in real time, and over time.
- In one application: skin feels smoother and softer.
- In three days: skin texture is refined and pores are less visible
- In four weeks: wrinkles, pores and skin texture are visibly corrected.

you can read more about this product HERE

I will start with my favorite the Packaging, it's so sleek and sturdy. feels luxurious and as always I love pretty packaging! (looks so pretty on my vanity) big thumbs up for that!

also, it comes with a pump which I will give it double points on functionality. It's much easier to use, you get just the right amount of product out and it won't contaminate the rest of the product because we don't stick our fingers inside - germs free :)

Moving on to texture, It comes out as a liquid milky consistency absorbs well into the skin, quite moisturizing and a non sticky formula. I think you can skip moisturizer completely, It gives just enough moisture on its own. For very dry skin types I will still recommend to use a moisturizer after applying the serum.

Scent wise, it's very subtle and fresh. It doesn't linger and disappears after a few minutes. I actually quite like it and won't mind if it did linger.

overall , like all new products in the beauty market lately, sounds very promising. I'm looking forward of seeing results in skin texture and pores visibility.
I will describe my skin condition as: slightly large pores mostly nose and cheeks area, I do have some slight redness around my nose and mouth area not very noticable but still there and it's a little dry and looks dull. I will update you if I see any improvement in my skin so stay tuned for the upcoming posts.
