The Face Shop - Blackhead Out White Clay Nose Pack- Mask Review

This post is joining my mask series that I have started last month on the blog.
This is the 4th mask I'm reviewing for you guys,
You can check the previous reviews here:
This nose pack mask is coming from yet another Korean brand, because I'm all about the K-Beauty :)
The Face Shop is a Korean brand that I'm only now discovering. It's very popular on the market but I have no idea why it took me so long to try any of their products.

The Blackhead out is actually a full range of products besides this white clay mask you can find also nose strips, cleansing foam and gel oil. So obviously for the best results it's recommended to use the all line of products.

The Face Shop - Blackhead Out White Clay Nose Pack- Mask Review
What the product promises:
A Perfect cleansing line effective for removing blackheads and dead skin cells.
Peel-off type of blackhead nose strip Formulated with volcanic clay, this purifying nose pack helps to clarify the skin by removing blackheads and impurities.

It leaves the skin soft and clean!

This mask acts just like any other nose strip to remove blackheads. The only difference is the application. I don't recommend using it as a full face mask! apply it only on your nose and chin! The reason is that it's very very sticky and may pull out hair from your face , sort of like waxing.

Directions of use:
Apply an even layer on the nose area. Leave on 10 to 15 minutes or until completely dry.
Gently peel off from outer edges.

I apply this mask using a synthetic brush with hard bristles because I find it easier that way, the mask is very sticky and it makes just things easier, faster and the application is even.
This mask is very similar to the Missha one that I reviewed here. But since buying this one my Missha one was completely neglected.

The Face Shop - Blackhead Out White Clay Nose Pack- Mask Review

I love the scent, it's very floral gentle, it dries super quick and the peeling also is very easy. You should apply a good layer of the product not too thin but not too thick and make sure to rub in deep. Once the mask is completely dry you'd want to peel it very slowly and gently. while peeling off the mask you should notice some of the blackheads peeling off with it.

After using this mask I do feel like I deep cleansed my pores, but still like all other nose strips I don't really see any difference or an impact on the blackheads situation. I did notice it removed some of the blackheads but not completely so I'm yet again disappointed.

I will continue using it but I won't be repurchasing this one. Maybe other people will see more of an impact but personally for me it's a pass.

If you're interested in trying it out, it's super affordable and you can buy it here.

Holika Holika - SWEET COTTON PORE COVER BB - Review

Holika Holika is another Korean brand that I love, I've been using their BB creams for years.
The previous one that I was using was from the Petit line (let me know if you would like a review about that one).

I came across the Sweet Cotton Pore Cover line when I was looking for a pore primer and any product that contains the words pore cover I gravitate to immediately :)
So I bought the BB from the line at the beginning of the month and had the chance to test it out before I had a solid opinion.

Holika Holika - SWEET COTTON PORE COVER BB - Review

what the product promises?
Smooth & even complexion! Cotton Candy like smooth & soft pore cover BB.
- Contains Sugar extract that help moisturize the skin, The Cotton extract controls oil levels and keeps the skin balanced in every aspect.
- Soft Cream texture that melts into the skin as softly as cotton candy does, covering pores effectively.
- Clean & elastic youthful skin - contain lotus water to helps with enlarged pores and wild flower extract to protect the skin from environment pollution.
- Sweet & Romantic scent that makes you feel excited and happy.

This BB comes in 2 shades like most Korean creams

Holika Holika SWEET COTTON PORE COVER BB Shades

I use the soft beige shade and it matches my complexion just fine. The first thing I noticed obviously is the Packaging , it reminds me of my blog design :)
It's cute, pink and compact perfect to put in your bag on the go. The second thing I've noticed is its sweet delicate scent it's pretty subtle and doesn't linger and it does make me smile when applying it.
I just love those small details that Korean products have that makes them so appealing. It contains SPF 30 which is always a plus for me. especially in the winter months when you think you don't need sunscreen but the suns damage is just as bad as in the Summer.

Now to the BB itself, texture is quite light for holika holika BBs but still a bit heavier than western brands. It's a medium coverage, I find I use less concealer when using this BB. It gives a matte look to the face it has no "dewiness" to it. But although it's matte it's not drying on the skin and it keeps your face well moisturized throughout the day. But if your skin is very dry and a bit flaky (dry patches) it will just emphasize it and will look bad.

Holika Holika - SWEET COTTON PORE COVER BB - Swatch

The staying power is not that great after 6 hours of wear I do notice a bit of fading, places where it just rubbed completely off. In regards for the pore cover I was expecting a poreless look. This is not the case with this BB, unfortunately it doesn't cover the pores completely, but it does minimize them a bit.

Bottom line, it's a very affordable option if you are looking for something simple for everyday and you don't have high expectations to have poreless\flawless looking skin all day long. Personally, I will continue using it till it runs out but I won't be repurchasing it. I thinks that there are better creams in the market at the same price range.

MISSHA - M perfect BB Deep Cleansing Oil - Review

Hi All,
Today I wanted to share with you a great find in the Korean beauty market, the M perfect BB Deep Cleansing Oil by the Korean brand Missha.

I will start with a confession: I'm obsessed with Korean beauty products! I just can't get enough of them. Their packaging is always so cute, they are so affordable, available online, there's a variety of products like an endless sea of options, and usually they don't disappoint and exceed my expectations.
This cleansing oil is no different.

What the Product promises:

"
  • Perfectly removes BB cream residue that is well adhered on the skin with fine particles.
  • Contains tea tree oil and patent ingredients, effective in controlling skin troubles.
  • The oil texture melts away impurities and leaves skin feeling refreshed.
  • This water-free cleansing oil removes water-proof type makeup residue perfectly.
"

how to use:
  1. Take an appropriate amount onto dry hands and apply over face in a massaging motion.
  2. apply water onto hands and keep massaging.
  3. wash off with lukewarm water.

I use this oil to remove my eye makeup as part of my night time skin care routine. I use water proof mascara and eye liner every day. and this oil melts most of the eye and face makeup smoothly. I prefer using this kind of oil rather than a deep cleanser in the winter, because. I tend to get very dry skin in the colder months and this makes my life so much easier. It's not harsh on the skin and doesn't strip it down or make my face dry. overall very moisturizing and leaves me feeling refreshed and silky.

Pros:
  • Gets the job done!
  • safe on the eyes, non- irritating
  • affordable
  • smells good.
  • packaging comes with a pump. very easy and convenient to use.
Cons:
  • Doesn't remove all eye water-proof makeup entirely, you'll still need to go over with a water proof eye makeup remover.
  • contains Parabens and fragrance.
I recommend buying this product from here, only 12.95$ for the 105ml bottle,

TONYMOLY Tomatox Magic Massage Pack - Mask Review

This post is part of the mask series on this blog.
This is the 3rd mask I am reviewing you can read the previous ones here:

This mask is from a Korean brand, Tony Moly, which is one of my favorite brands and I love trying out new products from their range. Their packaging is always so cute and appealing that you can't pass it up. This mask is no exception, it comes in adorable tomato shaped box and the name is so fitting indeed.

What the product promises:
Tomatox Magic Massage Pack contains tomato water and tomato ingredients. This multi-function product brings instant magic brightening and vitalizing effects when being used as a massage cream, and cleansing effect when being used as a pack. This soft massage cream and cleanly wash-off mask delivers highly vitalizing, truly clarifying, magic brightening, hydrating and protecting effects to the skin, leaving the skin amazingly bright, clear and supple.

Tomatoes are known as a good addition to your skin care, they add moisture, fight acne and add radiance. It's the perfect ingredient for face masks, it's nourishing due to the properties of vitamins A, C, and K which enhances the skin. Also, the natural acids, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals found in tomatoes have great cleansing properties that remove makeup build up, dirt, and dead skin cells and neutralize oily areas of the face. They are the perfect ingredient for combating oily skin, as the acids in tomatoes help to control an oily build up in the skin’s pores – especially around the T-Zone.

Directions of use:
After cleansing, apply on dry skin and gently massage for about 1~2 minutes. After massaging, leave it on your face for 5~10 minutes. Rinse out with lukewarm water and pat with towel. Use 2~3 times a week.

This product is definitely one that is good to have. I like using this when my skin is a bit oily and dull looking. On days where I feel like there are breakouts coming out. when I notice a bit of pigmentation or redness going on. I feel like this mask combats the oiliness and the blemishes and leaves the skin feeling nourished and radiant.

I love using this mask especially when I'm traveling. long haul flights leave my skin feeling very dull, oily and dirty. I will use it right before I go to sleep. And feel instant results: the skin is squeaky clean, the skin looks brighter and any redness or pigmentation is less visible.

Pros:

  • No Residue.
  • Affordable.
  • Smells great.
  • Effective.

Cons:

  • Tomatoes might irritate sensitive skin.

MISSHA - BLACK GHASSOUL PEEL-OFF NOSE PACK - Mask Review

I've been thinking of doing a series of posts for the longest time about masks that I'm using currently in my skincare routine.

This series will include different type of masks: Blackheads, Moisturizing, Detox, Peeling ,etc.
It will be featuring different Brands and price ranges.

Per usual I will start with a Korean brand :)

MISSHA - BLACK GHASSOUL PEEL-OFF NOSE PACK

What the product promises:
The peel off type nose pack is made out of Moroccan Black Ghassoul Clay and Pure Charcoal to help clean and remove pores and sebum.
Simply squeeze from the tube to make your own pack.
In addition to your nose, try using the pack on chin, forehead, and other areas needing pore care.

I've been using the pore stripes from Biore for years, So this mask just caught my eyes immediately.
you can apply the mask on the problematic area and as it dries it will become just like the famous pore stripes But, much more affordable.

This product contains Rhassoul or Ghassoul which is a natural mineral clay mined in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. This mineral is good for cleaning the body and has been used by Moroccan women for centuries to care for their skin and hair.

It also contains Pure Charcoal which boasts beauty benefits for skin by drawing oil, dirt and other harmful substances from clogged pores due to its adsorption powers.

Directions of use:
After washing your face and applying Toner, get appropriate amount and spread evenly onto nose.
Leave and let dry. Peel off after 15 minutes. Use 1-2 times per week.

I use this mask once every 2 weeks. I apply this mask on my nose area to combat blackheads.
I don't recommend using it as a full face mask! apply it only on your nose and chin! The reason is that it's very very sticky and may pull out hair from your face , sort of like waxing.
And having no eyebrows is not the look we're going for ;)

The scent is overwhelming and even obnoxious and I'm usually not sensitive to smells.
After the initial shock of applying it on I was glad the scent doesn't linger on. So waiting for 15 minutes won't be a torture.

The application is surprisingly easy while still being very sticky but fuss free. You should apply a good layer of the product not too thin but not to thick and make sure to rub in deep.

Once the mask is completely dry you'd want to peel it very slowly and gently. while peeling off the mask you should notice some of the blackheads peeling off with it. So Gross but yet satisfying :)

Don't forget to wash off any residue and apply a good moisturizer.

After using this mask I do feel like I deep cleansed my pores, BUT and that's a big one I don't feel like it made any difference or an impact on the blackheads situation. Which is very disappointing.
I will use up this product and it's quite good for doing a deep cleanse from time to time. But I won't be re-purchasing this one again it just didn't do the job for me.

A day after I usually have peelings and dry patches on my nose. which I get when also using the Biore stripes.

Pros:
  • Easy to use.
  • Not irritating.
  • No Residue.
  • Suitable for all skin types.
  • Affordable.
Cons:
  • Scent.
  • Effectiveness.
  • Skin Peeling.

TONYMOLY Double Needs Pang Pang Mascara #2 Curling Pang - Review

Another fun Korean product coming from the brand Tony Moly.
This Pang Pang mascara is not new in the market, I think it was launched a year back.
I made a purchase awhile back and haven't got the chance to use it because I had a lot of other tubes of mascara to go through.
so the second my previous mascara began to show signs of drying I grabbed this out to test it out.

The mascara comes in 5 types

  • Volume Pang (#1) - Comes with a pine shaped brush, promises rich volume effect without clumps,

  • Curling Pang (#2) - Comes with a peanut shaped brush, promises high curling effect.

  • Long Long Lash (#3) - Comes with a curve shaped brush, promises extraordinary length with the help of 4mm long fiber,

  • Brown (#4) - curling effect with deep brown color for a more natural and tender look.

  • Blue (#5) - curling effect with  blue color which creates chic gorgeous look.

I went for the pink tube which is #2 Curling Pang.

so the product promises:
  • Thrilling kill heel curling - a bit higher, a bit more thrilling eyelash curler effect. high curling effect of customized brush for powerfully curled lashes without the help of eyelash curlers.
  • Deep Jet Black Color - Sharpens up unclear eyelashes with darker color for deeply contoured effect.
  • Long lasting smudge free kill heel curling - perfect prevention of drooping lashes for a long period of time that completes the wanted clear look without smudges.
  • Hypoallergenic water cleansing - easily washed with warm water.

The Packaging as expected from Korean brands is so cute and pretty, it catches your eye immediately. The formula is very wet which is OK for a new tube, because after a few uses it will be perfect. It's indeed gives a nice curl to the lashes, the color is very jet black on the lashes and creates quite a dramatic look.

The brush is relatively medium sized brush and it's very easy to apply also on the bottom lashes without smudging it under your eyes or on the lids. it's very water proof, doesn't smudge at all during the day. And surprisingly removes easily at the end of the day!

When applied it's a little bit clumpy and creates spidery looking lashes. So girls who doesn't like that effect might get disappointed from this one. I absolutely loved it!

I'll definitely be getting some more mascaras form Tony Moly, It became one of my favorites to use.
It's relly affordable and you can purchase it online. I purchased mine from here

Skin Guard is another Korean brand I've been crushing on lately.
